FENSA Registered Member

Pennine Home Improvements is a member of FENSA (Registered No. 31358) – The industry Gold Standard for Building Regulations compliance in replacement windows and doors.

FENSA stands for the Fenestration Self-Assessment Scheme. Following Government encouragement, FENSA has been set up by the Glass & Glazing Federation (GGF) and other industry bodies in response to Building Regulations for double glazing companies in England and Wales.

When replacing windows and doors, homeowners must comply with current thermal performance standards and ensure they get a certificate from FENSA or Local Authority Building Control. FENSA enables companies that install replacement windows and doors to self-certify compliance under these Building Regulations without the need for a separate assessment from Building Control.

The GGF is recognised by government and plays a large part in the setting of new technical standards and regulations, such as The Building Regulations, the rules that govern and control the way our buildings are constructed in the UK.

All GGF members have been vetted and have premises, products and employees fit for purpose with trained professionals to ensure your installation is to the highest technical standards as outlined by the GGF Glazing Manual.

As a member of the GGF, Pennine complies with the GGF Consumer Code of Good Practice which has strict requirements regarding consumer legislation, we also offer free deposit protection and conciliation schemes to homeowners.

Pennine Home Improvements is a registered member of the Federation of Master Builders (FMB) – the UK’s largest trade association in the building industry.

Membership of the FMB is well respected among domestic and commercial consumers and therefore member firms must uphold the federation’s long established reputation.

Nowadays, more and more customers seek the reassurance that they have chosen a reputable builder to work on their home and membership of the FMB is the simplest way to provide that assurance. Your project will undergo a series of Pennine inspections to ensure your installation runs smoothly and without error.

Prior to any work commencing, a full site inspection will be carried out to ensure health and safety standards are met during the project and to make certain that your property and possessions are protected from damage at all times.

Once all the building work has completed, a second inspection will be carried out to ensure that it meets our high and exacting standards and expectations. This rigorous inspection covers all aspects of the completed works against our current Building Standards document.

A final inspection will be conducted once all installation, electrical, plumbing and plastering works have been completed to confirm that the fitting and finish meet our installation standards and to be sure that you are left with a beautifully finished product.
